My 9 Go-To Shoes for the Season
From sandals to sneakers, these are the shoes I'll be wearing on repeat. Could I live without them? Sure... but I don't want to.
In the name of research (wink) I bought a "few" (okay, many) pairs of shoes to get me through spring. I ordered lots, tried them at home, and just couldn't bear to return these nine below. They're popular for 2024, some are trendy, but not so trendy that they will be "out" next year. Let's talk about them.
Keep scrolling for details on the shoes I'll be wearing all season long as well as more recommendations for each style...

Denim
Denim shoes are everywhere. Look around and you'll find denim wedges, denim loafers, denim sandals and every other summer style in a denim fabrication.
Just like your trusty jeans pair perfectly with any top, denim sandals are the ultimate versatile footwear choice. Imagine how adorable they'll look with your crisp whites, bold prints, and even doubling up on denim with your favorite jeans!
FYI. - I was thrilled to discover that the denim version of this shoe (available in four options) just needed a little stretching to fit like a dream.

Loafers
Think again if you believe loafers are only for fall and winter! Stylish women are rocking them all year round, and for good reason.
Loafers effortlessly pair with shorts, short dresses and skirts, and cropped pants, making them a versatile and chic choice for warmer weather. Opt for a classic look by teaming them with a button-up shirt and pushed sleeves, or try a more relaxed vibe with flowy trousers and a fitted tee (perfect for taller ladies!).
The best part? Timeless loafers are available at every price point, so you can stay on-trend without breaking the bank.

Block Heel
This block heel slide was a Nordstrom6 Drop pick last month, and I've worn them at least once a week since I got them.
The brown raffia looks great with everything in my closet. The vamp exposes most of the top of the foot, making it great with long hemlines and short ones too. It's a great option for those who want a little lift without sacrificing comfort.
The shoe comes in two colors and with its current markdown at Nordstrom it's less than $100.

Sling Backs
The classic slingback has been deemed a MUST-HAVE this year for all seasons. This pair was another Nordstrom6 option that I've been wearing a ton since I ordered them.
Dress up your denim, your maxi skirts and of course wear them with your workwear and ladylike dresses. These are always "in style" but happen to be trendy this year too. Narrow heel? Slingbacks are made for you as the heel is often adjustable.
Black is a staple but if you have plenty of black shoes, grab a color or a metallic!

Nude Sling Backs
I gave nude sling backs their own category because I really do think you need a nude pump in your shoe arsenal and why not this season's slingback version?
Not only does it create a seamless legline, making you appear taller and more streamlined, but it's also incredibly versatile.
This Nine West pair sold out at Nordstrom so quickly but I found it elsewhere. They're so comfortable and I've worn them with jeans, dresses and shorts too.

Mesh
Mesh is undoubtedly one of the edgier trends of the season (especially mesh Mary Janes) and while I appreciate their boldness, I must admit that mesh Mary Janes aren't quite my cup of tea. Despite giving them a try, I just couldn't make them work for me. However, I do admire those confident women who can pull them off with ease!
Instead, I've found a more wearable and flattering alternative - a sporty yet versatile mesh slide that suits my style and wardrobe perfectly.
I'm thrilled to be rocking this trend in my own way, and I'm even tempted to snag the ivory mesh version too

Kitten Heel
Kitten heels, in general, are a spring/summmer '24 trend and when Larroude's sweet slide debuted in the Nordstrom6 May Drop, I was initially unsure if it was my style. While it was undeniably adorable, I worried it might be too dainty for my taste.
But, oh, how wrong I was! This little gem has won me over, and I'm now obsessed with pairing it with everything from tailored blazers to pretty white dresses in every color. The raffia material makes it a versatile match for any outfit, and it's even perfect for dressing up or down - I wore it to church on Mother's Day and to a business meeting with equal confidence.
And, as if I needed more convincing, it also comes in a charming white version adorned with tiny multi-colored flowers!

Toe Ring Sandals
I stumbled upon this stylish sandal at Target before I even knew toe ring sandals were a major trend this season!
And, as it turns out, this shoe has been flying off the shelves - they were almost sold out the last time I checked. But don't worry, I've got you covered with some similar options linked below.
What I love most about this shoe is how it combines the comfort of a classic flip flop with a touch of elegance, thanks to that chic gold toe ring. It's the perfect way to dress up a casual favorite!

Sneakers
I must admit, I initially resisted the charm of Veja sneakers, given my already impressive collection of kicks. However, there was something about this particular pair that whispered "take me home" - and I'm so glad I listened!
When the salesman mentioned they only had a size 6 available in-store, I thought it wasn't meant to be. But, much like Cinderella's glass slipper, the size 6 fit like a dream. Be sure to check the sizing guide, as it's crucial for these babies! I returned a few days later to grab a pair for a client, only to find all three styles had sold out completely.
As the rave reviews suggest, this version is incredibly comfortable. Don't hesitate if you're eyeing these - they're a hot commodity! With their low profile and street-savvy style, they pair perfectly with jeans, chinos, shorts, dresses... you name it!
