Summertime and the Stylin’s Easy
Ah yes, summer is finally here. Time to escape from the daily grind for some well-deserved rest and relaxation.
But what to pack when you’re getting ready for your getaway?
In this post I’m sharing with you my 7 summer vacation outfit essentials. If I forgot to pack any of these pieces for a trip it would most definitely be a fashion emergency.
Take a peek below for more details on my hand-picked faves of the season you’ll want to have packed in your suitcase for your next summertime adventure away from reality…
Swimsuits

Eek… swimsuit season already?! It always comes so fast. I feel like I was just marking my calendar in January and in a blink of an eye here it is June. No worries though, I got you covered figuratively and literally with my swimsuit picks.
This year while I’ll still be wearing two-pieces I am really liking the one-piece suits that I’ve been seeing. My absolute fave out of all them is the Sahara one-piece swimsuit in aqua teal by Robin Piccone. Love!
You’re going to look amazing in one of these suits, hanging out poolside, getting your tan on, sipping an adult beverage with your besties. If I’m with ya I’ll take a spicy Paloma, please and thank you.

Dresses

Is there anything better than the perfect summer dress? Perhaps the perfect summer dress on a perfect summer evening by the water, sipping some rosé, listening to mellow tunes with your sweetie by your side.
I am most definitely a dress girl and jump at every chance I can to wear one. I’m loving all of these pieces below especially the Kindred Spirit Floral Ditsy sundress from BB Dakota Steve Madden. Super cute. Super feminine. Yes, please!
I’m expecting some amazing pics filling my feed this summer, hopefully I’ll see a few in one of these pretty dresses.

Basic Tees

The basic tee is your casual go-to piece for wherever you may be on vacay. From breakfast on the bay, hello nutella stuffed crepes, to cocktails in a swinging chair, to running after the kids on the boardwalk you can’t go wrong with a basic tee.
Wear them untucked, tucked in, one side tied in a knot, basically style it the way you want and hit the town.
I have my eye on the split neck tee from Treasure & Bond. Cute and versatile.

Shorts

I know what you’re thinking because I’m thinking the same thing… “It can’t be short season already, my legs don’t have a tan yet”. Thank goodness for self-tanner.
Just like the basic tee, shorts are your casual go-to piece for your bottom. Pair them with a basic tee when you’re out and about on a boat with friends, braving an amusement park ride with the kiddos, or when winding down for the day on the balcony while watching the sunset over the water.
I’m really into jorts this year and have already been wearing the heck out of my relaxed destroyed hem denim shorts by Madewell.

Pants

Even during a summer vacation pants are a necessity for when you haven’t had time to get a tan on those legs, natural or from a bottle, and of course for when it’s a cool day at the beach or chilly evening dining outside.
I’ve been living in joggers recently and absolutely love my pocket joggers by Bella Dahl in soft army. They’re comfortable, versatile, and a perfect piece to have handy when traveling.
By the way, I included a pair or workout joggers below just in case you’re inspired to break a sweat on your vacation. As for me, uh yeah, um I’ll walk for sure but any physical activity beyond that while chilling and relaxing is strictly off limits. Vacation is a no workout zone for me lol.

Shoes

Finally, we get to chat about shoes… more specifically sandals. Gotta be able show off those freshly manicured tan toes!
When I’m on vacation I try to spend as much time barefoot as possible, but when I do do slide into a pair of shoes I want to keep it relaxed and casual.
Whether it’s a flip flop for laid back daytime activities or a block heel sandal for a little “dressier” feel for nighttime fun you really can’t go wrong with any of these below.
P.S. You’ll be living all summer long in the Antonella platform flip flops from Caslon. I can already tell my pair are going to get a lot of use, on vacation and at home too.

Hats

Besides being a fashionable accessory hats play a vital role for me when on vacation out in the sun all day long… and maybe for you too… they protect my scalp from burning! My gosh, a burnt head is no fun especially when it starts peeling.
I’m really liking the selection of straw hats that are available. In particular, the braided straw hat by Madewell in warm nutmeg is a fave.
Dress up your warm weather attire with one of these beauties below and protect your poor scalp at the same time.
