Dressing appropriately for work, yet staying cool in the heat is challenging. You're going to need light layers or a lightweight long sleeve option. Gotcha covered with these two fabulous Rails dresses. Keep scrolling to see how I styled both...
It's just cute, plain and simple. But it's not TOO cute, if you know what I mean. A smocked floral dress can be a little too sweet after a certain age, but animal print makes it chic, not childish. This one is a winner.
If you don't have an ivory blazer, it's time. With tee shirts, with tanks, with dresses and denim-it's a spring/summer must-have.
An easy shoe to pair with that ivory blazer is an ivory pump, sandal, loafer, ballet flat...take your pick. I can't stop wearing this block heel platform sandal I found at Nordstrom.
Keep the dress more casual with a slide sandal (this one is raffia) and a crossbody bag.

A classic shirt dress is smart for the office. This one keeps you covered without having to add layers. It's a heavyweight cotton that you cannot see through (thank the Lord) and a rope drawstring at the waist to keep your shape. I'm 5'4" and a midi isn't the easiest to pair with shoes. You need a plan.
With a long straight hemline like this, keep the top of your foot uncovered a good bit. That might be a pump or a sandal. A nude heel will visually extend your leg line and with a longer dress and short legs, you need it.
Now for those of you that love a casual look and aren't so concerned with what's most flattering... but instead want to wear what looks "cool"... try a slide, put your hair up and look chic in a sporty shirt dress.
