Nordstrom Try-On Session – My Favorite Finds From A Saturday Of Shopping

If you were watching my Stories on Instagram or Facebook over the weekend you already know I paid two Nordstrom full line stores a visit, the one in Bethesda. MD and the other in Tysons Corner, VA, to take a look at new arrivals.

Why two Nordstrom stores on the same day? Different stores get different merchandise!

I consider it part of my job as a personal stylist to get things off the hangers and find out how they feel and fit so I can offer an authentic recommendation.

As you probably know by now, I enjoy playing with fashion and personally that means taking the style risks and trying a little trend! Live a little! Or don't (suit yourself). I can dress you well either way.

This blouse... it's a simple satiny v-neck. I was drawn to that color. If you're looking for new spring basics this is a good one - in a different size. Size down! I'm wearing a small and swimming in it. 

The pants excited me! If done right, pleats are my hip and thigh's friend. In this case, they are in the right place and not pulling open. Moreso than the pleats, I was happy to see a fun cargo pocket on the leg. I've been looking for a trendy cargo pant that wasn't big all over, didn't have too many pockets and wouldn't break the bank since it's a trend. I see at least 2 seasons out of these pants and at just $99, I know the cost per wear will  be minimal in the end.

I'd wear these with a heeled sandal, a loafer and even try to roll 'em above the ankle for a sneaker too. Maybe consider cropping them.

Rails does it again. Perfect summer dresses, most of them wash and wear and made WELL. Love love love this brand. That smocking at the ribcage is so slimming and at 5'4" this isn't too short. Hallelujah, I'm over ALL the mini-dresses out there. The blue... gorgeous.

I'd wear those sneakers on the floor behind me or a pretty sandal.

You'd see me in this at every barbecue, on vacation and with a denim jacket over it at church on Sunday. It is true to size.

I'm gonna say it. I was feeling cute in this. This is Vince and a little on the pricey side for some, but worth it. Midi skirts are classy and timeless. This one has so many colors to draw from, the print is beautiful and the fit is perfection. Do you see how that seams sits a little below the hip, that wide elastic waistband? That's fantastic. If a skirt is full starting at the waist and you're not a toothpick, it's adding bulk to your tummy and hips. That seam makes the skirt lay across the belly nicely. That wide waistband whittles the waist. I love saying that.

Of course I could wear a tailored blouse with this, but I prefer a good over-sized piece thrown in. This button-up is a small, but I could have sized down for a closer fit. It must be tucked in or at least tied up to showcase the waist so you're not one big blob of fabric.

A medium to wide belt would be even better if you want to add style .

Oh yes.. my glasses are from Look Optic and I've been wearing them everywhere!

Here's a pretty party dress! Oh... what about a beach wedding guest dress? LOVE! Heck, I love dressing up so I'd wear it to dinner to impress the husband as well.

This one is just $128, a small and true to size. You'll need the right bra OR perhaps you can have a cup sewn in OR wear your trusty nipple covers. There's a slit on the side that's just above the knee. 

The shoe is one I picked up last week. It's simple, really comfortable, comes in 3 colors and just around $50, Remind me to push my toes up into it further, haha! I'm breaking my own rule.

Here's a showstopper in cobalt! This one's for the sophisticated woman. Cinch the waist with that fringe tie. Be aware... the top will be roomy if you're particularly petite with small shoulders or small-busted. It glides along the curves of the body, never clinging, but skimming.

My bone-colored shoe works perfectly, but I'd love a metallic or black or even another bold color if you dare.

I'm wearing a small, my typical size. Wedding guest or work or luncheon or.... you name it... wear it!
