Spring Dress No. 1
Let's start the party with this flirty little black dress! I was surprised by its weight when I pulled it from the rack. The fabric is a lightweight satin, but the ruffles on the bottom were a bit heavier, which makes this dress move so beautifully.
I had fun twirling in it! It has sleeves (so nice for the chillier start to our spring) and can be worn year-round. Just $135! I'm wearing a small and it's true to size.
Pairing a shoe with this is easy since it's above the knee. An ankle strap sandal will make it seem a little less short if that bothers you. A bootie would be fantastic too. I chose this buckle heeled slide from Sam Edelman (comes in several colors).

The green on this dress... oh my goodness!
The deep plunge makes this tiered ruffle maxi dress just a bit sexy. Perfect for a wedding, a romantic dinner date, or vacation. If you ever tire of it, simply have it hemmed to be shorter!
You'll want a heeled sandal with this and I adore the ankle strap platform I slipped into here. For a high heel, it's quite comfortable. It came home with me.

Spring Dress No. 3
Every spring I see this dress on display but never paid it much attention. Oh boy, was I wrong for not trying it on sooner. Now I see why people love it.
The fact that it's off the shoulder makes it a little sultry. Then, it falls away from body in a shift style, hiding tummy and tush problems. It's lined too. It's short enough to show some leg and that keep this shift style flirty. Anyone concerned with their arms need not fret, it covers most of the upper arm (typical problem area). It comes in black, white and hot pink. At just $79, it's a steal.
The gold ankle sandal adds a little dressy lift yet the block heel makes it comfortable and easy to walk in. There's that cute faux pearl bag I've been sharing with you!

Here's another little black skater dress I could dance the night away in. It zips all the way up the front and has this awesome full skirt that twirls and moves so beautifully!
I added a snakeskin slingback I found to add some fun. I'm almost 5' 4" for reference and I'm wearing a small (4-6).

This dress could be worn for work or play. Add a blazer if you want to be more conservative, but the faux leather adds some pizazz for sure.
A wrap dress is a great option for small and large busts alike (because it's adjustable) and the knot at the waist slims you down. That taupe color makes it look way more expensive than it is (just $119).

You've probably seen cutouts in clothing everywhere. I've been avoiding them. No one needs a peek at my abdomen right now.. but this one was just so pretty I figured "What's the worst that can happen?" LOVED IT! The cutouts are small enough that I didn't feel overly exposed. The sweetness of eyelet, along with the bubblegum pink, and puffy sleeve made this dress more romantic than sexy. Glad I tried it on!

Here's one for my more conservative friends. The bold florals and colors are fun! An A-line is flattering for most everyone. Wear this to a semi-casual daytime wedding or change into a pump and take it to work (or church).
Yes, that IS the same sandal over and over and over. It just works with almost everything!

First, I need to tell you this dress was a size too big, but deserved a spot on my favorites anyway! When I checked, it was available online in all the sizes. I mean.....how pretty, how feminine! I'd wear this to a wedding (of course) and for EASTER and for a date and anytime I can! The details on this are stunning. It moves like a dream. Obsessed.

I almost passed this one over and then I went back for it. It's gorgeous. It looks expensive but it's under $100! It's a really soft yellow with beautiful ruffle details. True to size.
I added a daffodil colored sandal. I have to warn you that this shoe runs a little narrow, not bad but just a tad. For some of you I know that would be a blessing. It comes in 5 colors altogether (from Vince Camuto).

You know, I just realized I should have tried to pull this dress off my shoulders... I wonder. Either way, it's the prettiest color. Need a sleeve? Gotcha! Cinched waist? Yes.
I paired this one with that pretty yellow sandal. The soft colors work together perfectly. I sized down to an xsmall in this one, one size down.

This one I'd take on vacation, out to brunch, to work with a sweater/blazer over it, and yes.... to a wedding. It's so light and airy, with a little metallic threading throughout. It's true to size and I just love popping that metallic thread with a metallic sandal, of course! This is a best-selling woven tote from Madewell, by the way.

Here's a tiered maxi dress (that also comes in black). It's made of 100% lyocell, which is COOLING and you can roll it up in your suitcase then throw it in the washer when you return home. It's under $100 and it's really comfortable. It's a Nordstrom brand and comes in XXS-XXL size 18.
I added a straw Panama hat (by Nordstrom) and my favorite block heel platform sandal. The tote is from Madewell and it's real leather.

AWESOME dress alert! This Eileen Fisher pleated silk midi dress comes in five perfect colors and you can wear it relaxed like this or add a belt for shape. It's ridiculously comfortable, great quality... a dress you'll have forever. It's oversized by design so size down if you want it more fitted. I sized down to an xsmall and it's just right. This comes in sizes XXS-XL an 18.
For vacation, I'm adding a straw hat and dressing it up with a heel but a flat sandal would be great too.

This color is a spring 2023 trend and I LOVE it! this is a square-neck organic linen sundress from Eileen Fisher that just feels like summer! It's so light and breathable.
I dressed it up with a gold ankle strap sandal and a straw bag, but yes...slides would be a great option too. You'll want to wear this everyday. Also comes in black. I'm wearing an xsmall..sized down.

Spring Dress No. 15
A little white dress is as much a must-have as a little black one. It's a heck of a lot harder to find a good one, though. Things just aren't lined the way they used to be and at our age see-through probably isn't a great idea.
This white tweed shift dress is from Theory and not only is it "heavy enough", it's even suitable for work or a luncheon or church. Now, I'm on the petite side so if you're much taller it will be a little short, as shift dresses often are. They are shapeless through the body and show a little leg. This dress is fantastic if one is hiding a little tummy or doesn't have a waist. It works for anyone that's not signifigantly bottom-heavy. I sized up to a 6 instead of my usual 4. I find Theory, in general, runs a bit small. Because it's on the shorter side I'd do a low heel to keep it conservative.
This snakeskin sling-back works beautifully. Add a hip-length cardigan or blazer if you want your arms covered or put a blouse (button-less) underneath. I love a long necklace with a high neck, plain straight front like this. It elongates.
Below, I styled this dress with a cropped blazer, a classic navy. I'd add a bright/bold lip for spring!

Spring Dress No. 16
I shared this dress the minimalist way already this week but why not belt it and make it look more tailored? A skinny belt will get lost on this waistline so choose a medium to wide width. I mimicked the wooden stacked heel by choosing a brown-toned belt and bag. Ladies, if wearing a high-neck top that blouses like this one does, be sure your "girls" are up as high as they can be. This will keep your breasts from melting into your waist, make your waist look smaller.
I like a light (colored) ankle strap or a slim ankle strap if your pairing that type of shoe with a midi dress. Anything more will make your ankles look thick.
Below, I lightened up the whole look by adding nude accessories. Wear to work if your office isn't super conservative or to brunch if it is. By the way, IS your office conservative? What are today's dress codes? It's been a while for me but I hear since Covid they've relaxed a little.

You saw this look loose and breezy, now let's add a belt. As you can see, I love adding belts when they are flattering. This silk dress is gorgeous in Atlantis blue. You could put a sweater on (if you need one) and wear it just about anywhere. It suits every body shape! Below I decided to dress up the black version (it comes in 5 colors). Once you belt it, it takes on a whole different vibe.
I added a classic patent slingback pump an ivory tote to brighten the overall look and a simple black cardigan to keep the look clean and chic. Add a multi-colored silk scarf to the bag to bring it all together. Don't forget that bright spring lip!
