For reference on sizes, I'm almost 5'4" and typically wear an XS or S in tops, a size 4 in bottoms, and a 26/27 in denim. TTS or sized up/down will be noted.

why i'm wearing it
Why would we want to wear a jacket even when it's warm outside?...
Perhaps our arms aren't our favorite body part, perhaps there's a chill as night falls. Perhaps we are in a conservative setting and don't want to go sleeveless.
Whatever the reason, I'm always looking for options that are fashionable and breathable. Lucky, I found this cropped (but not TOO cropped) extra lightweight sateen utility jacket. It has a nice drape, feels like you're wearing nothing at all. It can be worn in place of a blazer or make it sporty.
I found so many uses for the off-white version: it comes in black too. I'm wearing an x-small (sized down) but a small would have worked just fine for a roomier fit.

I'm using the cropped jacket and tank to dress up my jeans and a sandal look.
A silky tank is a wardrobe MUST. It's the layering piece you need under blazers, denim jackets or the just-dressed-up-enough look when it's hot outside and you didn't want to wear a dress. This brown/blue combo is subdued but still adds some interest to your neutrals. I'm wearing a small true to size.
These jeans are "boyfriend" style but not your typical extra slouchy, ripped up kind. They are relaxed and stretchy but still slim....so comfortable.
A slide with just a little bit of a heel finishes off the look. The slide is simple, timeless and runs big. I'm wearing a 6 1/2, but actually need a six. That never happens. Oh, and they are on sale for just $59.40 and available in 4 colors.

Here's the dress I want to wear everyday. Add a third piece like this jacket for a more complete look and a little extra dose of style. The sporty ponte knit dress is a favorite of mine and comes in 4 colors. It's true to size and just $69. It's perfect for running errands and travel or throwing on after your workout.
I'm wearing my old faithful Nike Daybreak sneakers. They're a great street casual style and keep to the athleisure styling. The Daybreak isn't available in the colorful combo I'm sharing but IS still for sale in neutrals and very comfortable. I shared the link to a similar multi-colored sneaker I'd recommend to get the same look.

This cropped jacket is made for high-waisted pants, shorts, skirts. I picked up this Halogen top because I love the front twist and the v-neck. It's just $59 and comes in 4 colors. I'm wearing a small, TTS. It's the perfect companion for anything loose on the bottom...a flowy skirt, cargo pants, straight leg jeans, to name a few. T
he skirt I found at the Rack and you won't believe what I paid! It only looks expensive. It comes in 4 colors/patterns. If you have a tummy you're self-conscious about, skip this one or maybe consider sizing up or just wear a jacket like I am and no one sees a thing.
That twist sandal finishes my outfit and elongates my leg.
