I'm sharing my top 5 shoes to wear with flare jeans
Here we are, back to wearing flare jeans this year!
I've worn them a couple of times in the past when they were popular. When I was younger, I wore them with sky-high heels to make my legs look extra long. Now that I don't wear my heels as high-and because I'm kind of short-I'm finding getting the RIGHT shoe can be a challenge. I figure if I'm struggling a bit, you might be too. Let me help.

But first, take a look at some of my favorite flare jeans
The first few times I wore flares, a super low rise was all the rage. I'm DEFINITELY skipping the low-rise version this time around.
In my experience, I've found Paige and Fidelity work beautifully on all body types. Frame denim spreads their pockets pretty far apart. That can make an ample bottom look wider and a smaller tush fuller. Joe's jeans especially caters to a woman with curves. Avec les Filles is a new one for me. They meet all of my "great jeans" requirements and get rave reviews.

And now my picks for the best shoes to wear with flare jeans...
BEST SHOE #1 - Platform Sandal

Now let's talk about the shoes. A platform sandal is a fun nod to the 70s and gives extra leg length to us ladies with little limbs. That's a mouthful, ha!
I insist the heel of a sandal be closed so the pant leg doesn't get caught underneath my foot when I walk. If the back of the sandal is open, the heel needs to be much higher so the hem cannot get caught. It's not cute when you have to keep pulling your pant leg out from underfoot. Plus, it's dangerous! It could make you trip.

BEST SHOE #2 - Casual Block Heel Boot

The shoe I wear most often with flares or bootcuts is a block heel boot. Light wash and medium wash flares look more casual, so I prefer a casual shoe. A stiletto heel feels too dainty for such a heavy hem. A block heel balances the overall look.

BEST SHOE #3 - Dressy Block Heel Boot

If you want to wear a dressier boot with a slimmer heel-not a block-have the hem cover the shoe just about completely. No one will even see what you're wearing anyway.
I prefer a pointed toe. It's a classier look than a round toe and it visually elongates the leg just a little more.

BEST SHOE #4 - Cowboy Boot

I'm always trying to find a way to wear my cowboy boots. Personally, I'd like to see this pair just a little bit longer on the model because she isn't all that tall, but you get the idea.
The cowboy boots (or cowgirl if you prefer) adds that unexpected twist to an otherwise dainty outfit. I love it and I love these cowboy boot options...

BEST SHOE #5 - Lug Sole Boot

Being petite, I've avoided the "heavy lug sole shoes with straight legs" look everyone's been wearing. It weighs me down visually, looks TOO clunky and makes my legs look shorter. Long-length flares and bootcuts are PERFECT for pairing with this thick-heeled style, though. They give us all extra height, making this trend easier to pull off.
