As soon as my stylist friends and I set foot in the Nordstrom Downtown Seattle store we were off to find our favorite dresses, coats, and blouses to put together some looks for the season.

Before I left for my West Coast trip, I dug out some of my fall clothes that I had tucked away. I had forgotten about my red boots! Mine are no longer available, but I found similar booties. Sure, I could have chosen a black or brown to finish off my jeans and sweater look, but nope.... camel and red will always be a favorite color combo.
I can imagine wearing that sweater with light wash denim, with black bottoms, but the dark wash jeans make my "jeans and a sweater" look a little more polished.
What pairs with every winter outfit? A black and white herringbone topper. This one is nice enough to wear with your dressed-for-dinner look or your matching sweatsuit. I believe a hat just brings the look to a whole other level. Please try a hat!

There is just something about that caramel color that says warm and luxurious. I'm not sure exactly when my faux fur addiction started but I can't look away. I love being wrapped up in all that softness. Not all faux fur is great quality, though: be careful out there. This jacket is ridiculously soft and looked like the real deal. I did not want to take it off... a classic that will stand the test of time.
A little tip... when I wear this color, I like to add a little warmth to my skin too so I add a dusting of bronzer to my forehead, nose, cheeks and chin.

There's a lot of exaggerated puff sleeve happening out there with blouses and I'm leaving that trend on the table.
With that being said, I found this silver beauty from a "cool girl" brand that always seems to find a way to add a little edge to their pieces. Even this pretty floral blouse is a bit oversized, keeping it from being TOO pretty or at all prissy.
I'm wearing my true size... a small, but an extra small would have worked too. I'd tuck it into a slim bottom to keep your proportions in check. If I had time to pull the whole outfit together, here's what I'd have done.....

This shirtdress is so easy to wear, easy to style and very comfortable. There are so many colors you can pull out of this print or you can just keep it simple and wear black accessories. Anyone can add a black boot and bag... you don't need me for that... so I picked a rich suede forest green to finish the look instead. Now that is something to get excited about!
Wear semi-sheer hosiery if you want coverage. Add a blazer or thigh-length cardigan if you want to tone it down or add warmth.

Of course I fell for this sporty puffer. Of course. And this designer usually has some sort of edge to their pieces that I'm drawn to. The patent shine on this black number and the bold silver hardware... love. The jacket is lightweight but surprisingly warm and cozy. There's an adjustable toggle waist and hood, a zipper that opens from both ends. They get the details right!
