While traveling the other week, I went from chilly Seattle to balmy La Jolla. On the second leg of my trip in California, my friends and I had some downtime. We stopped by the beach to put our feet in the sand and I had a chance to take a few pictures.Since I was going to be in two towns with different weather during this getaway my goal was to pack pieces that would work for both places. Oh the decisions, but I did narrow things down a bit…

Whether lounging at home or catching up with friends at lunch, this cozy cashmere top with its deep V-neck and ribbed cuffs elevates your casual-chic look.

Here are some of the pieces I packed to wear while traveling between two weather zones, one with cool temps, the other warm and mild…

An Undone Frayed Edge denim jacket from Fidelity Denim for easy layering. It’s soft, already has that broken-in feel to it and fits true to size. A cozy and lightweight Nordstrom brand essential v-neck cashmere sweater that works well on those days when it’s going to be chilly one moment and warm the next.A mid-sized winter white Coach crossbody. With its classic style the bag went with everything I wore that week. A pair of black sneakers. I find them so easy to style. They really go with so many looks. They are are always a suitcase staple when I’m travelling. I especially appreciate those times when I’m wearing them at the airport because they’re easy to slip on and off. And last, a slip skirt that I had recently “upcycled”. Believe it or not I dyed it using tea bags to get the tan in the tan and black color combo. Since Zebra is still trending, why not keep on wearing it with a twist on the classic color scheme? To me the unexpected tan with black comes off as a little more chic than the traditional black and white. Cool, right? Even my stylist friends, that seem to know all the tricks, were impressed with how the tea bag dye job turned out.
