The Right Boot for the Dress

Wearing an ankle boot with a long dress or skirt (a midi style) can be tricky. The wrong boot height can cut your leg off and make them look a bit stumpy. The right boot should hug your leg and if it doesn’t you can add a little suck to make it seem like it does. It’s a visual trick that slims the leg! The easiest shoe to pair with a longer dress or skirt is a knee boot. I love this Maeve striped wrapped midi dress I found at Anthropologie. The bust line is a little low for my liking, so I put a stitch across it to make it a little more conservative. I also added a belt to bring attention to the waist.Go ahead and accentuate those curves!P.S. Notice there are different textures going on here with this look. The dress is knit, the belt is leather, and the boot is suede. Go ahead and mix and match fabrics for to add more visual interest to any outfit.
