Look Cool, Check. Stay Cool, Check.
A few weeks ago my husband and I were at our favorite local winery and it was brutally hot, like in the nineties with high humidity hot. I think that’s called “Hot Hot”. Luckily we were lounging in the shade sipping on a flight of reds. Yes, red wine in summer peeps… this is a hill I’m willing to die on. The bigger, bolder, and drier, the better… no matter the temps.
Anyway, so then I noticed the hubs was wearing jeans and I said to him, “What were you thinking, wearing jeans on a day like today?! Aren’t you uncomfortable in this heat?” His response… “No, I’m not hot. I didn’t even notice the heat. I’m comfortable.” I was like, “Say what?!”
I had to get to the bottom of this strangeness, so I texted a friend at Fidelity Denim, whose jeans my husband was wearing, and she said, “Yup! It’s because of Lyocell. It’s awesome.”
I know what you’re thinking, what the heck is Lyocell? Me too! I put on my detective’s hat, a fashionable one of course, and fired up the ‘ol Google machine and found out Lyocell is a natural/man-made, breathable fabric manufactured from wood pulp that is moisture absorbent, anti-bacterial, and eco-friendly. Whoa! Who knew such a super fiber existed?
All that to say, even before I learned that Fidelity Denim used Lyocell I was a huge fan of them and their sister company Modern American. Their jeans fit amazingly, both on guys and gals. Don’t believe me though… get a pair and see for yourself. But not before checking out the look I put together for you…
In today’s outfit I’ve slid into a pair of the Gwen High Waist Raw Hem Ankle skinny jeans from Fidelity along with a rib rim tank by Treasure & Bond, some Arizona Soft Footbed sandals from Birkenstock, Marc Jacobs aviator sunglasses, and a straw fedora.
Literally and figuratively a cool, go anywhere casual, hipster, kinda look, no matter the heat index.
Cheers!
