This pinstripe suit is my latest crush – I had to feature it as part of the workwear look for my January Edit.

The special fabric (sourced in an Italian mill) elevates the classic tailored look, adding a touch of unexpected softness and stretch. Now I can channel my inner power suit while feeling like I’m in my coziest PJs. Is that winning, or what? And forget stiff, stuffy blazers! This beauty is all about relaxed tailoring with a twist. That twist? An Italian fabric masterpiece with a sharp pinstripe that’s so “of the moment” and classic too. Trust me, it’s the kind of piece that makes you feel put-together even when you’re just catching up with friends. From the office to a dinner party, suiting is BACK. Just be sure you’re styling it in a modern way.

For the dressed-up look from my January Edit, I chose a plissé midi dress with pretty layered-ruffle sleeves.

I am always on the lookout for dresses that will work for the most body shapes. That means a v-neck, an A-line and typically a midi length. The v-neck elongates your neck gracefully. the A-line cut emphasized a waist (or ribcage) and doesn’t cling to a fuller bottom. The midi length means you don’t have to love your legs or have a tan. All over pleats lend graceful movement to this affordable (but well made) dress that comes in four colors and is easy to layer.

For my everyday casual look I chose a medium-weight cardigan, a pair of light grey jeans, and a pair of low-profile loafers.

The medium-weight cardigan can be worn alone, buttoned, or opened and worn as a layer. Wear it now while it’s chilly and wear it later over your dresses and tanks when the weather turns warmer. True to size.A good pair of light grey jeans are almost as hard to find as white. Most of us dread shopping for them. They show everything! These do not.  This pair is a slim jean and it looks fantastic with everything… every top and every shoe. Grab these true to size or if you are in between sizes, considered sizing up. I decided on a pair of low-profile sleek loafers to finish this look. I’m not sure why I never bought them before! This is a style that has been available for at least the last five years and continues to return every season in many new fabrics and colors! It looks just like designer, is really soft, I understand it to be quite durable, and you cannot beat the value! This is the year for loafers, and the year everyone is wearing them with socks!
