Pretty In Pleats – Steal The Show In This Party-Ready Midi Dress

For reference on sizes, I'm almost 5'4" and typically wear an XS or S in tops, a size 4 in bottoms, and a 26 in denim. TTS or sized up/down will be noted.

This weekend went by in the blink of an eye. I took a business trip, but also made time to enjoy myself. Ryan and I drove to White Plains, New York (a suburb of NYC) to visit a Nordstrom and see what's new.

We stayed in an incredible hotel, the Opus Westchester, and dined at The Red Horse by David Burke. I brought along one of my prized new dresses to impress my date. The weather was cooler than I'd expected so I was glad I had my light wash denim jacket along. Typically I'd have paired a "fancy" dress with a blazer or wrap but in New York among the fashionable, my denim jacket was even better. 

I honestly didn't think I needed another denim jacket when the rest of my stylist friends from the Nordstrom6 settled on this topper by Rails as part of our May Drop, but I've found myself pulling it again and again for so many outfits! It works beautifully with my pastels and whites, my light neutrals-better than my usual darker blues. It's not overly destroyed, so I still feel like an adult in it and the price matches the quality perfectly. 

Now let's talk about styling the rest of the outfit. That dress I mentioned...it fit beautifully. The top could run a bit small if you're especially busty. I just fit. I put another N6 favorite to work... a wallet on a chain from See by Chloe. It holds my cell phone and important items like ID, payment cards and cell phone perfectly, a designer collectible that's never out of style.

Gold strappy sandals were meant for this pleated midi dress and the metallics complemented the hardware on that pretty little bag.

Dangly earrings from Ettika and gold bead bracelets put me all together.
