Work and Play – 4 Looks For A Busy Weekend Getaway

In a little over a week, I'm headed to White Plains, New York. Ryan and I have been mixing business and pleasure for the past few weeks, visiting various Nordstrom stores... different locations tend to have different items to shop!

I play in the clothes so I know what to recommend to my clients and then we find great spots to dine and indulge in good wine (or sweet treats for me). 

Since we're staying at a hotel and checking out the town, I wanted a few new pieces to take with me... so I went off to Nordstrom in Tysons Corner again.

look no. 1

This month my N6 stylist friends and I put Farm Rio dresses on our hot list- the N6 May Drop. I tried on quite a few and some didn't work at all, some were a bit too revealing for my comfort and some were just right. This one was a winner.

I'm a fan of bright colors and bold prints. I'm a fan of midi skirts and dresses. I'm a fan of this Schutz sandal (also on the DROP) that pairs well with everything. For reference, I'm wearing a small in the dress (true to size) and I sized down half a size in the sandal. It also comes in ivory!

I put together the rest of the outfit below, accessories and another raffia shoe option that gets fantastic reviews!

Looking for dressy casual options? Add this one to your list. I found a gauzy cotton skirt that is lined and lightweight. I'd add a simple tee or tank, maybe a cargo or denim jacket. A blouse would dress it up. It's a nice alternative to shorts or pants in the spring. It has a super wide elastic waist that flatters, slims the waist and tummy. Cover it if you have tummy troubles, no big deal.  I'm wearing a medium in this but could have worn a small if they had it. Both would work, I'm sure!

The tee is a nice heavy weight, good quality, a little on the longer side and from Madewell. I'm wearing the white in a small. 

Below, I added a sporty sandal from Sorel that customers raved over. I put together a few neutral pieces with lots of pizazz. Chunky hoops are a big jewelry trend. Take a look!

I'll be wearing this to an early dinner while we are away. Ryan booked an impressive restaurant and I want to impress. I love dressing up and feeling good in my clothes. This is another Farm Rio dress that gets my vote. I'm wearing a small. The straps are adjustable. 

In case of a chill, I put together an outfit combo below that includes a light cardigan. I found a lovely straw bag (that's on sale) in a color that's hot this season! 

look no. 4

I'll need something comfortable to go shopping and I found these pull on pants from Splendid. They are made of super light Tencel. I sized up to a medium but if you have less hips and rear, a small will suit you! These pants are not dressy, so I grabbed a soft tee by Nordstrom, a great everyday v-neck tee that's just $19, but feels like it should be much more! I'm wearing a small, TTS. 

Below, I've added a denim jacket to my look and a popular sneaker from a previous Nordstrom6 DROP. This called for a slouchy bag and I added some mixed metal pieces to accessorize.
