While visiting the Nordstrom in downtown Seattle earlier this month, I went shopping for festive party attire. Below are three pieces that I was just dying to share with you! I put together styleboards to help you with ideas on how to wear each piece.

Do you remember when bubble hems were all the rage? They’re back! This long sleeve cotton dress covers your arms, nips the waist, and is easy on your tummy and hips. You can pair it with semi-sheer hosiery or even fishnet tights (big trend) for modesty and style. Add a skinny belt for a little “extra”. Skip the necklace and do a jazzy earring. This muted cranberry is great for more than just holidays and works with any skin tone.

Not feeling a dress? Try a subtle dose of sparkle, try a touch of sequins. This black silk blouse has a cowl neck, super elegant. There’s a flowy balloon sleeve with a black sequin cuff. Wear dark jeans and a sandal, try trousers and a pump. Pair with a skirt or maybe the season’s hot coated denim or faux leather trend!

This flocked dot minidress reminds me a little of Mrs. Claus - Santa’s true love - but maybe just a little more sex appeal, LOL. I really wasn’t expecting it to work but once I tried it on… LOVE. I had to size up. With a short dress like this, you can certainly add tights. You could wear a heeled ankle boot or heeled knee boots or a strappy sandal. Then prepare for compliments from other party-goers!
